Bio: Hello and welcome. Thanks for taking a moment to connect and be curious. I am a counselor, a teacher, a partner and a mother. As a counselor, I offer a mindfulness-based practice with a focus on healing through life’s transitions, parent coaching, mindful parenting, palliative care, grief and bereavement. As a teacher, I work with individuals with special needs 18-21 years old as they transition into adult life. As a partner, a mother, a daughter and a friend, my goal is to be authentically and lovingly present with all those I encounter. I started this blog as part of my MSW advanced practicum. It has offered a great space to integrate and reflect on what arises in all aspects of life. Moving forward, my intention is to use it to continue to explore and integrate, as well as to build community with other like-minded souls. “If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountaintop, then you shall begin to climb. And when the Earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.” ~ Kahil Gibran MSW, Integrated Mental-Physical Health, University of Washington, Seattle WA, June 2015 Board Member, UW Center for Excellence in Palliative Care Community Advisory Board, joined 2013 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification, Whole Life Yoga, Seattle, WA 2010 M.Ed., Special Education Endorsement, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, 2006
